Child Sample Policy

The Child Sample Policy specifies columns that are copied-down from Parent Samples to Child Samples. This Policy is used by the ApplyChildSamplePlan and CreateSamplePool Actions. The MultiSampleChild Action also uses this Policy when the Action's "copydowncolums" property does not specify a list of columns.

NOTE: In the OOB configuration, all "Copy Down" properties in the "Copy Down Columns" collection default to "Yes", which allows copy-down.

Values are copied-down only when all Parent Samples have the same value. If Parent Sample values do not match, the Child Sample column is set to null.

If Pooled Child Samples use a Template and Parent Sample values do not match, the Template value will be set.

Ignore Null Parent Values[Reveiw Note: LV-31084 - Enhance the Pool sample column copy down to ignore nulls in the parent sample's values.]Typically, values are copied-down only when all Parent Samples have the same value. This option provides the ability to ignore this requirement in the event that some Parent values are null.

When set to "Yes", Parent Samples that have a null value in the copy down column are ignored, allowing values from other Parents to be considered.

The default is "No" for backward compatibility.

Child in a Different StudyDefines columns that are copied-down when a Child Sample belongs to a Study other than the Parent Study.
