The Monitor Group Policy determines options for creating and managing Monitor Groups. Values defined here determine how Samples are grouped as they are generated.

Different sets of rules are created and associated with a Monitor Group Type. As Samples are generated, the Monitor Group Type is included with the Monitor Group to identify which set of rules were used when deciding which Samples to include in the group. The types Production, Environment and Adhoc are provided OOB. Adhoc is used for Adhoc executions of a Schedule Group.

Pending Release RuleDefines when the Monitor Group should be Released.
Property NameDescription
On Last Sample Completion Monitor Groups will be Released when all Samples are Completed.

Use "On Last Sample Completion" when the duration of the Monitor Group is short (and you can guarantee that all scheduled Monitor Samples are present when the time period starts), then after data entry (when the last Monitor Sample in the group is completed) the Monitor Group status is automatically set to Pending Release.

After End DateMonitor Groups will be Released when the End Date of the timeframe (duration) is reached regardless of Sample Status.

Use "After End Date" when the duration of the Monitor Group is longer, such that monitor samples will continue to be added over time to the monitor group.  Since you cannot guarantee whether or not more samples will be scheduled into the Monitor Group the Monitor Group may not be released until the ending date of the Monitor Group window.  A task ChkMonitorGrpStatus will continually look for Completed Monitor Groups (past their ending date) and change the status to Pending Release.

Auto ReleaseWhether or not to automatically Release the Monitor Group. Choosing "Yes" automatically Releases a Monitor Group when all Samples have passed (no manual Approval is needed).

If any Samples do not strictly pass all data, an Approval will be mandatory.
