Notes Policy

The Notes Policy defines system-wide behavior of Notes.

Property

Description

Enabled

Determines (Yes/No) if Notes are enabled anywhere in the system. Page Types should not enable (or even render) Notes in the page if this is set to "No".

Administrator Role

Defines a Role that allows any Note to be edited or deleted by the User with the specified Role. A Note cannot be deleted if there is a Note following it.

Notes

Specifies general formatting for Notes:

Property Name	Description
User Text	Determines whether the "User Id" or "User Name" is shown when creating a new Note.

Note Attachments

Specifies general rules for Note attachments:

Allow	Determines (Yes/No) if attachments can be added to Notes.
Preview Size	Specifies (in pixels) the size of the attachment preview in the Note.

Specifies general formatting for Note Tags:

Column in the SDINote table to which the Tag is mapped.

Tagged Value

Value that is set in the SDINote column when the tag is enabled.

Scope

Defines the applicability of the Tag to different Notes. The Tag can apply to "Notes and Comments", "Notes Only", or "Comments Only".

Modification

Specifies by whom the Tag can be modified ("By Owner", "By Thread Owner", "By Anyone", or "By Role").

Modification Role

The Role that can modify the Tag setting if "Modification" is set to "By Role".

Maximum Tags

Maximum number of times the Tag can be set for Notes against the SDI.

Default Value

Defines a default value for the SDINote column when a new Note is created.

Border Color

Border color of the Note when the Tag is enabled.

Background Color

Background color of the Note when the Tag is enabled.

Note Types

Enable tags per Note Type:

Choose the Note Type:

Note Type	Description
Note	Adds a Basic Note. When using the Advanced Toolbar option "Add Note", this is the Note Type added.
System Note	For internal use only.
Follow-Up	Lets Users assign a specific User to the Note. That User is then responsible for resolving the Note. The Note must be resolved before SDI processing can continue.
Linked Note	For internal use only.
Statement	Lets Users add a Statement to define longer, formatted texts to include in a COA. These Notes can also require resolution (Approval) before SDI processing can continue.

Enable

Whether or not to enable Tags for this Note Type.

Notify

Defines notification rules:

Property Name	Description
Bulletin Description	Description used in the Bulletin sent when someone comments on the Note.
Bulletin body	body of the Bulletin sent when someone comments on the Note.
Resolve Bulletin Subject	Subject for the Bulletin sent when the Note has been Resolved (Follow-Up Note) or Approved/Rejected (Statement).
Resolve Bulletin body	body of the Bulletin sent when the Note has been Resolved (Follow-Up Note), or Approved/Rejected (Statement).
