Automatic Disposal |
|
|
When a Sample is associated with a Product, the Sample can be disposed automatically using the "Product Disposal Rule", which consists of these fields on the Product Maintenance page:
Field | Description |
Disposal Based on Rule | Column in the Sample table (s_sample) to use as a reference. |
Disposal Offset
Disposal Offset Unit |
Time interval following the Sample column specified by the Disposal Based on Rule. |
For example, these settings change Sample status to "Disposed" 3 days after the Sample's submitteddt:

page:

When you leave the "Disposal Target Date" blank as shown above, the Product Disposal Rule automatically populates it with the Disposal date. The Sample is then automatically Disposed on this date. This is accomplished by a Recurring Task called "ChkForSampleDisposal", which recurs every 12 hours.
If the Product does not specify a Product Disposal Rule (or a Product is not associated with the Sample), you can manually specify a Disposal Target Date on the Sample Maintenance page.
The SamplesbyDisposalDt Query on the Dispose page can be used to filter Samples based on the Disposal Target Date.
Manual Disposal |
|
|
You can manually Dispose any Sample that does not have open Incidents. In the Sample List Page (Samples à Manage), select the Samples, then click "Dispose Now". The Disposed Samples are transferred to the Historical Samples list page.
Attempting to Dispose a Sample that has an open Incident results in display
of an alert message.
