The "Manage" tramstop at LIMS → Samples → Manage opens the Sample List page to conduct operations on Samples.

The Sample List page is a standard SDI List page with the additional buttons described below.

Button Description
Add Loads the Quick Login wizard, which lets you add Samples.
Edit Allows Sample editing by opening a Sample Maintenance page.
Navigators Opens a preconfigured Navigator when multiple Samples are selected withing the context of the Navigator.
List Control  
View Opens a read-only version of a Maintenance Form or Grid to allow viewing the selected Samples.
Delete Deletes the selected Samples from the database.
Show Notes
Add Note
Show/Adds Notes associated with the selected Sample.
View Data Sets View associated Data Sets using the Data Set List page.
View Tests View associated Tests.
View Results Opens a read-only Data Entry page for the selected Samples.
Manage Tests

Manage Data Sets

If a single Sample is selected, this opens the Test or Data Set Management page as described in Manage Data Sets, Manage Tests, and Manage Worksheets.

If multiple Samples are selected such that there is a many-to-many relationship between the Samples and Tests (or Data Sets), a ManyToManyMaint page opens, which allows you to maintain this relationship. See the ManyToManyMaint Page Type for examples of configuration variants.

Manage Specifications If a single Sample is selected, this opens the Specification Maintenance page.

If multiple Samples are selected such that there is a many-to-many relationship between the Samples and Specifications, a ManyToManyMaint page opens, which allows you to maintain this relationship. See the ManyToManyMaint Page Type for examples of configuration variants.

DataEntry Opens a Data Entry page for the selected Samples.
Print Labels Print Labels.
Record Incident Records a Lab Investigations Incident.
Review Conducts the Review process on the selected Samples (see Review, Sample Life Cycle, and Adding and Maintaining Tests).
Dispose Now Changes the status of selected Samples to "Disposed".
Add Tests Lets you add Tests to the selected Samples (see Adding and Maintaining Tests).
Cancel Samples Changes the status of selected Samples to "Cancelled". You can exercise a degree of control over the "Cancel" operation by using the "Cancel Action Behavior" property of the Batch Sample Policy.
Add to Workflow Add selected Sample to a Workflow.
UnReceive For selected Samples having a status of "Received", changes Sample status back to what it was prior to being Received (see Sample Life Cycle).
Assign Storage
Clear Storage
Assign/Clear the Sample to/from a Storage Unit. Assign Storage launches the Assign Storage operation.
Add Child Samples See Child Pool Samples.
Pool Samples See Child Pool Samples.
Load Into Plate See Loading Samples to an Array.
View Specifications Open a page to view SDI Conditions (see Specifications → Viewing SDI Conditions).
Manage Customers Opens a "Manage Customers" page to dynamically evaluate Customer Specifications (see Specifications → How Specifications are Applied).
Assign Work Area Opens a dialog that assigns the selected Samples to a Department that is a Work Area (see Departments). Assigning a Sample to a Work Area also assigns all of Sample's Tests to the Work Area. For a summary of Work Area assignment functionality, see Assigning Analysts, Work Areas, and Instruments to SDIs.
Manage Work Used with the WAP module. Opens the Manage Work page.
Plan Work Used with the WAP module. Opens the Work Assignment page.
Assign Analyst Opens a dialog that assigns the selected Samples to an Analyst. Assigning a Sample to an Analyst also assigns all of Sample's Tests to the Analyst. For a summary of Work Area assignment functionality, see Assigning Analysts, Work Aeas, and Instruments to SDIs.
LES Provides operations to generate an LES Worksheet based on a Global LES Worksheet Template for Sample Type or Sample SubType (see LES Worksheet Generation).
Create QC Batch Lets you Create a QC Batch using selected Samples. See Workflow Task Definitions: Create QC Batch Tasks with Samples, Data Sets, and SDIWorkitems.
Details Allows a detail (Attachments, Categories, Roles, Addresses, Tests, Data Sets, and Specifications) to be edited for the selected Samples.
Other Tasks Standardized List page operations that are described throughout this documentation (such as AuditView, Reporting, CTT Exports, etc.).
