Purpose |
|
|
Assign Storage stores Samples in a Storage Location. This is a simple, lightweight alternative to ASL, as it bypasses all custodial BioBanking and ASL business rules.
Description |
|
|
The "Assign Storage" operation is available on these pages:
• | Samples Pending Receiving (Samples → Receive), where it is "Receive and Assign Storage" to Receive the Sample prior to storing it. |
• | Sample List (Samples → Manage). |
• | Samples for Review (Samples → Review). |
"Assign Storage" opens the Assign Storage Unit dialog. The lookup opens the Storage Explorer where you can find available space. Choose the Storage Location in which the Samples will be stored ("Select Storage Location" below).
If the "Retain Sample" checkbox is checked, the Disposal Status of the selected Samples is set to "Retain". This means that the current User cannot Dispose that Sample.
|
Clicking "OK" assigns the selected Samples to the chosen Storage Unit. In the Sample List page, an icon indicates storage assignment.
[ LV-29995 User with ASL module assignment cannot assign a box position as storage. Added the following Note.]
NOTE: | Users having the ASL Module assigned will not be able to assign a Sample to a Storage Unit using the Sample Maintenance Page. The Storage Unit displays in View mode. |
