An Environment defines the environmental conditions associated with a Storage Location.

To Add New Environments, navigate to:

LIMS  →  Storage  →  Environments

The Environment list page displays.

Choose to "Add" a new Environment or "Edit" existing. Click "Add" to open the Add Storage Environment Details page.

Field Description
Storage Environment Identifier for the Storage Environment.
Label Displays in the Add Condition dialog when adding Conditions to a Stability Plan. See Stability Plans → Adding Conditions. If a Label is not defined, the Storage Environment Id displays in the Label field.
Freeze Thaw Candidate When checked, Freeze Thaw Tracking is enabled for Trackable Items in this Environment. Trackable Items in any Storage Location (having this Environment) will then count their number of freeze-thaw cycles.

Upon "Saving", Storage Condition details display. Check the Storage Conditions you want to associate with this Environment. The available Storage Conditions are those added to the Environmental Attributes list (see Add Environmental Attributes).

 

 

Add Environmental Attributes

To add or manage Environmental Attributes, from the Environments List page, "Other Tasks" menu, click "Manage Environmental Attributes". This opens the Environmental Attributes List Page. Click "Add" and supply the information as described below.

Field Description
Attribute Enter a label that will identify the attribute (for example, Humidity or Temperature).
Description Enter a text description if desired.
Choose one Data Type for this Storage Condition Type:
Numeric Numbers only. For the Default Unit, choose the Unit that will be assigned by default.
Text Alphanumeric.
Reference Type Reference Type or Validated Reference Type. Data will be one of the Reference Values for the chosen Reference Type.
Validated Reference Type

Clicking "Edit" from the Environmental Attributes List Page opens the same form and lets you change the Data Type and Description.
