Approve Tests |
Description |
|
|
Data Approval and Review can be conducted if the Parameter List is associated with an Approval Type. The process of Data Approval and Review begins in the Data Entry page when all Data Items in a Data Set have been "Released". After Release, the Data Set is ready for Approval. The Approval Type defines each Approver and the conditions required for Approval.
Two options are available for Approving Data Sets in these menus:
• | LIMS → Tests → Approve Tests By Sample lets you choose the relevant Samples |
• | LIMS → Tests → Approve Tests By Test lets you choose the relevant Test Method. |
Both begin an Approval process that differs only by the Data Entry View in use.
Note that after all Data Sets associated with a Sample have been Approved, the Sample is ready for Review. During Review, authorized personnel determine the "Disposition" of the Sample (such as "Approved", "Rejected", etc.). Facilities are also available to generate a C of A, perform editing functions, view Specification Conditions, and so on.
Approval in Data Entry Pages |
|
|
This example uses LIMS → Tests → Approve Tests By Sample, which opens the Sample Approval page. Click "Approval".
|
The Data Entry Test Approval page opens, which provides these Approval mechanisms:
|
1. | Click "pass" (green checkmark) or "fail" (red x) to set all items in the column. |
2. |
The first icon indicates overall status. This is reevaluated and updated
whenever an Approval Step status is changed.
The last icon indicates status of the current Approval Step. The checkboxes let you set conditions for "pass", "fail", or "pending action" (neither checked) on the current Approval Step. |
3. | Clicking the checkmark in 2 opens a detail showing all Approval Steps for the Data Set. This lets you set conditions for "pass", "fail", or "pending action" (neither checked) on each Approval Step. |
NOTE: | If using Classic Data
Entry pages, click the "Approve" icon For each Data Set you want to
approve. The "DataSet Approval Details" window shows Approval Steps for
the Data Set.
For each Approval Step:
Classic Data Entry pages do not enforce unique Approvals for each Approval Step. For example, if an Approval Type defines a unique approver for each Approval Step, Classic Data Entry pages allow the same User to Approve all Roles. |
