Before attempting to use or configure this LES Worksheet, you must be familiar with the mechanics of ELN/LES (particularly LES Worksheet Generation) and the AQC module.

QC Method Configuration |
|
|
Overview |
The "PreciousMetals" Test Method is configured OOB to provide input to an OOB LES Global Worksheet Template. Key configuration elements of the PreciousMetals QC Method are shown below.
|
Worksheet Templates Detail |
This example uses the "QCBatch with Review LES Worksheet" Template. The "Worksheet Templates" detail is described in LES Worksheet Template Detail. Fundamentals of the "LES Text" detail are described in LES Text, with a configuration example (using Test Methods) in LES Text Content and Positioning.
Test Method Detail |
The "PreciousMetals" Standard Test Method will be added to the QC Samples.
Make certain you are comfortable with the configuration options offered by Test Method Rules. Since there is a "Preparation" and "Procedural" Parameter List, the "Availability Rule" for the "Procedural" Parameter List is set to "Make Available when all Data Sets of all Parameter Lists of Type Preparation are Completed" (as described in Test Methods → Rules → Rules for Parameter Lists → Availability Rules and Add Rules). This enforces the system Rule that states if a Sample has Preparation and Procedural Data Sets, Data Entry on the Procedural Data Sets is prevented until data for the corresponding Preparation Data Sets have been entered/saved/Released (as described in Data Entry for Preparational and Procedural Data Sets).
QC Method Sample Types Detail |
A predefined set of QC Method Sample Types are defined as shown in the screen above.

Template Structure |
The high-level structure of the "QC Batch with Review" LES Worksheet Template is described below. LES Text and other superfluous content (such as most Attribute Controls and Rich Text Controls) have been omitted for clarity. The emphasis is directed toward LIMS data (such as SDI Maintenance and Data Entry).

9. Conclusion |
This Worksheet is executed using the GenerateQCBatchWorksheet Action.
This Worksheet accepts the following substitution tokens:
Context | Substitution Tokens |
Worksheet Name | These tokens can be used to substitute values in the
Worksheet Name:
$S{qcmethodid}, $S{qcmethodversionid}, $S{qcbatchid}, and $S{paramlisttype}. |
General | These tokens can be used to substitute values throughout
the Worksheet:
$S{qcmethodid}, $S{qcmethodversionid}, $S{qcbatchid}, $S{paramlistid}, $S{paramlistversionid}, and $S{variantid}. |
Worksheet Generated from Template |
This describes the Worksheet generated OOB from the Template. LES Text and other superfluous content (such as most Attribute Controls and Rich Text Controls) have been omitted for clarity. The emphasis is directed toward LIMS data (such as SDI Maintenance and Data Entry).
|
In the opening QC Batch Viewer Control, "Edit QC Batch" allows editing of text fields and QC Batch Items.
![]() |
In the SDI Viewer Control (Standards and Controls), "Edit" allows the Consumable Lot and Container to be chosen for the Control QC Sample Type (Metals Standard). This assumes a Consumable Lot of Consumable Type "MetalsStandard" exists.
![]() |
In the next Section, "Edit" allows the Consumable Lot and Container to be chosen for the Parameter List. This assumes a Consumable Lot of Consumable Type "H2SO4" exists on the PreciousMetals Parameter List.
![]() |
In the next Section, "Edit" allows the Instrument defined in the PreciousMetals Test Method to be chosen.
![]() |
In the first Data Entry Control, "Edit" allows data to be entered for the QC Batch Params. When Data Entry begins, QC Batch Status changes to "InProgress". You must "Mark as Complete" to Save and Release the data before proceeding to the next Section. You can do this in the Data Entry screen or on the Control Toolbar, in which case a "Revert to InProgress" button is then provided for the Control. See ELN/LES Life Cycles for descriptions of status transitions.
![]() |
In the next Data Entry Control, "Edit" allows data to be entered for the PreciousMetals Prep Parameter List. As previously discussed, you must enter data for the Preparation Parameter List before proceeding to the Procedural Parameter List.
NOTE: | When Data Entry begins, QC Batch status changes to "InProgress". |
![]() |
Since the previous Section is configured as a Repeating Section, the next Section allows data to be entered for the PreciousMetals Procedural Parameter List.

The last Section provides Review and Approval/Rejection Request. "Review" allows you set the "Requested Review Disposition" to request Approval or Rejection, as well as perform Retest operations on the Batch Items and view Parameters and Control Charts for the QC Batch Sample Types.
Alternately, you can simply use the "Request Approval" and "Request Rejection" buttons to change the Requested Review Disposition.
An "Evaluate" button can also be shown if the QC Method's "Evaluation Option" is "Manual".
NOTE: | If "Automatic Review On Success" in the QCMethod is set to "Yes", the "Review Disposition" of the QC Batch is set to "Reviewed" when the "Evaluation Disposition" of the Batch is "Passed". The Worksheet can be completed even if "Requested Review Disposition" is not set by the User. However, if the User sets it, the User's choice overrides the "Review Disposition" of the QC Batch. |
